The grey hair accumulates, this is known as an action shot.

I was born in Bellshill 26 July 1968 and brought
up in Hamilton, (a town in
the west coast of Scotland). I attended Low Waters Primary (1973 - 1980)
and Hamilton Grammar School (1980 - 1985).
I went to study Chemistry at The
University of Edinburgh graduating in 1989.
I moved to the Victoria University of
Manchester as a Carnegie Scholar,
submitting my Ph. D thesis in September 1992. My supervisors were
Bill Hunter, John Helliwell and Dave Garner
and I worked in the
Structural Chemistry Section.
On Jan 1 1993 I went to the
Howard Hughes Medical Institute at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center
at Dallas Texas,
to work in the lab
of Steve Sprang as a NATO/SERC fellow.
I returned to my native Scotland on Jan 1 1995 as a junior Lecturer at
The University of St. Andrews. I have then been
engaged in setting up and running my own laboratory in
Structural Biology (protein crystallography) since then. I am a member of the
Centre for Biolmolecular Sciences and I lecture in Biochemistry and Chemistry.
